Soul Movie vs Romantic Movie

Yes, there is a difference! Romantic movies are lighter in tone and

deal mainly with the chase. Boy meets girl,

they are attracted but have a fight. Boy chases girl, catches her

and they live happily ever after.

Sometimes there is loss through death but otherwise,

 pretty surface type fun.

In soul movies the attraction is instant but it is the

 attraction of the souls.

There is much struggle and angst as the characters

wrestle with the ego fighting the soul.

The attraction is on a deep soul level.

There is always conflict between the characters that

ranges anywhere from dislike to hate.

There is the inevitable separation, the realization

and finally the reunion. Below are some examples

 of both types of movies.

SOUL MOVIES: Pride and Prejudice, Beauty and the Beast,

 Dead Again, Parent Trap,

When Harry Met Sally, You've Got Mail

ROMANTIC MOVIES: Casablanca, Holiday,

Chocolat, Shall We Dance,

Maid To Order, Flashdance

Here's a brief look at some of these soul movies:

Parent Trap???? YES. Here are two people who were married,

had a fight and split for years

yet never hooked up with any others. Pride (ego)

kept them apart until they were brought

together by their twin daughters. Scary movie because not all

of us have 12 years to stand on ego! LOL

Beauty & The Beast: Belle saw beneath the outer ego to the

 beautiful soul of the "beast"

choosing him over the ego based Gaston. Note,

she herself was somewhat of an oddball as she was a very independent

thinker and an avid reader. Unheard of in a woman of her time.

I LOVE THIS MOVIE. Teary eyes.

You've Got Mail: instead of letter writing, this modern

 version uses e-mail

for the two characters to fall in love but in person

they hate each other. Pretty cute story

Dead Again: very unique look at the soul connection bringing

in past lives against the backdrop of a mystery.

This is a fascinating movie with Emma Thompson

 and Kenneth Brannagh

Pride & Prejudice: The sharp tongued Mr. Darcy

 is always managing to say

the wrong thing to the woman he loves. Lots of denial

on both sides in this one. I always enjoy this story

and have seen it in many versions. Teary eyes.

BEAUTY AND THE BEAST

The story of Beauty & The Beast is one of the

best soul love stories out there.

It illustrates the whole concept of soul love,

the courage to walk the soul path.

Belle was always a little different. She was an

avid reader, had her own opinions and

was a strong determined woman who really didn't

care what others thought of her. She was an outsider.

It was unthinkable to others that she wouldn't be

pleased with the attention of Gaston the handsome

yet shallow man of the town.

The Beast, was a misunderstood man who wasn't

sure how to relate his feelings to anyone

in any other way except anger. Belle's boldness

both irritated and amazed him. His fierceness scared her a bit.

They both had things to learn from each other which is

the heart of the soul connection.

Through the power of love and determination they

got their happily ever after ending because love can

move mountains as long as there is love on both sides.

Can this happen in real life?

In a soul connection both people feel the connection
and know the depth of it but there is
invariably one who seeks to deny it and chooses to
walk away. Soul connection comes from
the sharing of past lives. There is unfinished business
from the past that brings you together in this life,
thus the concept of karma. This is what makes the
connection an uneasy one. However, there is something
magical about the whole thing. Being of the same mind,
finishing the other's thoughts, seeing the humor in
something, just the knowing, the comfort of being with
them transcends everything else. It's an incredible elixir!
So, the answer is yes, it can happen in real life provided
there is enough time for fear to be vanquished by love.

"There are no guarantees.
From the viewpoint of fear, none are strong enough.
From the viewpoint of love, none are necessary.
Fear tells you, 'I want you to be safe.'
Love says, 'You are safe.'"

WHEN HARRY MET SALLY

A comical look at the soul connection that I never tire of watching. Here is an example of

two souls battling it out with each other, yet the connection is always there.

They are brought back together time and time again. Despite their

annoyance with one another's habits and personality,

the connection is  deeply felt from soul even though in this case

they are both runners and refuse to recognize it.

Though each gets involved with others, each one finds

out that they can only delude themselves for so long

before it falls apart and they are once again on the search.

No matter how annoying the one is to the other,

there is just something that keeps drawing them back to

each other until they each find that the soul can be quieted

no longer and they surrender to the inevitable.
