Sasha's Tea Room

a magical tarot reading place

There are some wonderful places where you can put your knitting skills to use for charity! I have donated to the two charities below to give you an example but there are many worthy organizations out there looking for help. Some even give you the supplies you need in order to complete the projects for them!

A favorite book of mine is called "Knitting For Peace, make the world a beter place one stitch at a time" by Betty Christiansen. In it she gives you many resources for charitites as well as some fun and easy patterns too.

A wonderfully fun knitting project has come to my attention. It's a project for www.afghansforafghans.org This is knitting simple rectangular shawls for afghan women and the deadline is July 2008. Please visit their site for the specifics of the project. I can't wait to get to work on mine. I seem to work best under deadlines!
